What Does It Take To Be A KDUR DJ?

Our Fort Lewis College radio station, KDUR, has recently accepted and integrated new DJs. Students are always encouraged to apply and to submit their applications for their own radio show.

“Not many people know this, but anyone can be a DJ at KDUR,” said Chris Braun, a FLC senior and the music director at KDUR.

Applying to graduate school and taking the Graduate Record Exam seem like really scary things. They definitely take a lot of preparation. As a self-proclaimed over-achiever, I don’t understand why students don’t begin preparing for these as soon as possible.

Latino College Day at Fort Lewis College emphasizes the importance of student diversity. The event occurs once per year in accordance with Skyhawk Saturday, an orientation for prospective students.

The goal of Latino College Day is to introduce what FLC has to offer through workshops available to high school students of Hispanic or Latino background.

Recognition for one’s hard work continues to motivate and assist in a team with blending talents. Christine Groh, a senior playing for the Fort Lewis College Women’s Basketball team, was selected as Skyhawk’s Student Athlete of the week after putting on a tremendous performance against Colorado Christian University on Jan. 24 and the Colorado School of Mines on Jan. 25.

A Day of Change: Fort Lewis College Adopts the Three-Credit Model

At the Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College meeting this morning, Feb. 7, the decision to convert FLC to the three-credit model was voted on and passed unanimously by the Board. It will be implemented by the fall 2016 semester.

The Higher Learning Committee Accreditation process brought the three-four credit difference to a forefront. Many disciplines offer a range of both three and four credit courses to FLC students.

Update on Gender-Neutral Bathrooms

The bathrooms on the Fort Lewis College campus are going through some changes in order to provide students and faculty who are trans and gender nonconforming with a safe environment.  

































The gender-neutral bathrooms on campus were chosen as an Idea for Innovation in November 2013, said Glenna Sexton, the vice president for student affairs.

With football, volleyball and soccer seasons coming to a close, Fort Lewis College will say goodbye to some of its seniors and look back on the teams’ accomplishments this season.

The Football team wowed its student and community fans with four wins this year as new head coach John L. Smith hit the field for the first time at FLC.
