In addition to serving our readers, the Independent offers several benefits to our staff. Students gain active, real and applied experience while working with the Independent. Being on staff offers students a chance to develop professional skills and connections and a dynamic set of tools to apply in the professional industry. Students can participate as club members as well as gain lower division and upper division course credit for enrolling in the practicum course.
