On October 14, Josey Burkett, a freshman at Fort Lewis College participated in the EcoFlight educational trip across the western United States along with other interdisciplinary FLC students.

There is a new club on the Fort Lewis College campus titled Black Student Union. The group was formed this fall semester, to acknowledge and address needs and concerns that are specific to black students.

I was recently talking to a friend about her lack of success in the dating world and she said something that, at the time was highly amusing but also kind of profound.

Recently, the excessive use of alcohol amongst members in the Fort Lewis College community has reached situations holding more gravity than simple warnings about alcohol. FLC's student wellness coordinator, Kendra Gallegos said it is important for everyone to pay attention to the reasons as to why they are using alcohol in their life.

With the upcoming United States Presidential election, people are asking themselves who they should vote for. They may consider whose political views they agree with or who does the most effective campaigning. People would usually vote for a presidential candidate that falls along their party affiliation or that somehow appeals to their personal identity.

As you look across Wolf Creek Pass, there are masses patches of trees that have grayed. In some areas, these graying trees outnumber the green, healthy ones, and each year in the Southwest, due to beetles, the patches of graying trees becomes larger and larger.

With the rise of the computer, technology in general and the ability for people to log their every movement, thought, feeling and meals to be immortalized in text or photograph on a digital platform, there is an entirely new realm of possibilities when it comes to protecting private information from invaders.

They have a crazy dedicated fan base who is willing to pay to get into the games, they have a bunch of guys who are willing to give up sleep to make it to 6 a.m. practices and they have earned a lot of recognition around the school. Because of their status as a club team they are not reaching their full potential. Even without scholarships there are students who have applied or transferred to Fort Lewis College because they wanted to play on our hockey team. Can you imagine what it would be like if we could provide scholarships for those who wanted to play hockey? The already great team would be incredible.  

On Wednesday, November 4 Fort Lewis College hosted the international touring panel for anarchism and political discussion, in the Student Union Ballroom. The event included a table from the sociology department centered around issues of police brutality, along with the dirty hands collective. Several representatives spoke from various countries about the specific struggles and uprisings within their locality in the context of the “To Change Everything” movement.
