The Independent's Graduating Seniors

Dear readers,

The Independent has always been possible because of the extreme hard work from the staff dedicated to producing content for the student body. This semester, The Indy says goodbye to four seniors who have embodied the hard work and passion for an organization that makes it successful. Carolyn, Natalia, Rachel, and Matt - thank you for helping elevate the level of the organization in your respective fields and developing personal relationships that will last for years to come.

Alex Semadeni,

Editor in Chief

Visit theindyonline.com has been my tagline and elevator pitch since spring 2016 when I joined the Independent’s business department which has since become part of the reason why I decided to stay at The Fort. My hopes for the Indy is for it to continue to be a place for any student, regardless of major, to have a community to learn the art, structure, and importance of journalism.  - Natalia Sells, Business Director

The opportunities the Independent has presented to me are unparalleled. I hope that in my two years at the Indy, I have made as much of an impact on it and the people within the organization as the organization has had on me. Forks up! - Matthew Roy, Sports Editor

The Independent has been the number one reason I have fell in love with journalism and I hope that this organization will also make an impact on other students like it has on me. I will never forget what the Independent and the people in it have done for me and my future after I leave Fort Lewis College.

I am extremely thankful for the outlet The Independent has given me. Designing the print issues has been a fun and fulfilling experience. I’m going to miss the long nights in the media center going over proofs to make sure everything looks perfect. I am excited to see where this organization goes!
