Recently, the excessive use of alcohol amongst members in the Fort Lewis College community has reached situations holding more gravity than simple warnings about alcohol. FLC's student wellness coordinator, Kendra Gallegos said it is important for everyone to pay attention to the reasons as to why they are using alcohol in their life.

On Wednesday, November 4 Fort Lewis College hosted the international touring panel for anarchism and political discussion, in the Student Union Ballroom. The event included a table from the sociology department centered around issues of police brutality, along with the dirty hands collective. Several representatives spoke from various countries about the specific struggles and uprisings within their locality in the context of the “To Change Everything” movement.

As the month of October is now gone, the Fort Lewis College campus looks back at Youth Justice Month, a month of social awareness and activism. This can be seen most amongst the FLC sociology department who helped various student-led events which were designed to draw attention to youth justice issues.

With advising season upon, many students will be speaking with professional advisors, or academic success coaches, to determine their future goals within their study. The Student Success Demonstration Project, as implemented across various departments by Fort Lewis College administrators, gives these departments assistance in advising, to remove the possible burden from faculty.

On Halloween in Durango, students and young adults attend an event that occurs on Main Street known as the Zombie March. Participants march and holler through the streets from midnight to about 2 a.m.
