Free Climb

The climbing wall is allowing anyone to come and climb, regardless if a student is a member of the Outdoor Pursuits program.

The free climb is held one Thursday each month, said Associated Students of Fort Lewis College senate member, Marisa Molina.

Students can go to the Student Life Center to find out which Thursday the free climb will be held.

Upcoming Events

The women’s varsity volleyball team will be hosting a Valentine’s Day dinner at CJ’s Diner on Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m.

The dinner costs $50 per couple and will be a fun date night for couples looking for something to do on Valentine’s Day, said Lindley Gallegos, ASFLC senate member.

ASFLC Elections

Nominations for senator and executive positions opened Feb. 5 and close Thurs. March 14, said Tina Zuniga, ASFLC senator and election committee chair. Election week will be held the week of April 1. Candidate can campaign leading up to election week beginning March 18 thru March 29.  Seven senator positions are up for election, and two executive positions are as well.

Approvals and Appointments

Jakob Wheeler, ASFLC senate member, was approved to become the chairman of the Constitution Committee.

The Financial Allocation Board approved the Westerns Club for a travel grant to go to an agriculture conference in New Mexico, said Dylan Leigh, ASFLC senator.

Financial Allocation Board also approved the Recreation Services Club’s request for a travel grant to go to a conference in Las Vegas.

Pubic Relations

There will be a Ping Pong tournament on Feb. 11, at 6:30 p.m., to promote Registered Student Organizations.

There will be a novice and an advanced bracket in which students that sign up during the day or walk in later will be entered, said Hannah Neumann, ASFLC senator.

There will also be a RSO War Week in which events such as a climbing day, karaoke night and Quidditch will be available for students to enjoy, Neumann said.
